As part of its longstanding commitment to advancing education, supporting underprivileged students, and caring for orphans, the Habib Yar Charity Foundation implemented an extensive assistance programme in 1405 (2026) across the provinces of Herat, Nimroz, Badghis, and Ghor. Under this initiative, thousands of educational and Eid packages, including clothing, shoes, schoolbags, and essential learning materials, were distributed among deserving students, orphans, and children from disadvantaged families. The initiative was designed to create better conditions for children to continue their education while helping alleviate some of the financial hardships faced by vulnerable families.
The programme began in Nimroz Province, where schoolbags and educational supplies were distributed to students in need at schools across the city of Zaranj, Chakhansur District, and other areas of the province, in coordination with the Provincial Directorate of Education. The initiative was subsequently extended to Herat, where hundreds of educational packages were distributed to students at schools in Herat City as well as in the districts of Obe and Chisht-e Sharif. The programme continued in Badghis and Ghor, where hundreds more students in need received schoolbags and essential educational materials. Education officials, academics, community leaders, and respected local figures expressed their appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a valuable contribution to strengthening education and easing the challenges faced by underprivileged students.
Alongside its support for education, the Habib Yar Charity Foundation has also undertaken extensive programmes to assist orphans. In several phases, hundreds of Eid packages containing clothing, shoes, schoolbags, and educational supplies were distributed to orphans at various centres across Herat Province. These initiatives were carried out in the presence of foundation representatives, religious scholars, teachers, community elders, and officials responsible for orphan care centres. Speakers at the events emphasized that supporting orphaned children is among the most important religious, humanitarian, and social responsibilities of society.
Mawlawi Abdul Haq Siddiqi, General Director of the Habib Yar Charity Foundation, emphasized during these events that supporting education, orphans, and families in need remains one of the foundation’s foremost priorities. He further stated that such programmes would continue in the future on an even broader scale.
The Habib Yar Charity Foundation believes that investing in education and caring for orphans is an investment in the future of Afghanistan. Accordingly, alongside its humanitarian and relief efforts, the foundation has consistently sought to make a meaningful contribution to the country’s intellectual, cultural, and social development by providing educational opportunities, supporting disadvantaged children, and implementing projects that serve the public interest. Through these efforts, the foundation aims to help create renewed hope and greater opportunities for the next generation.
