Biography of Ustad Abdulhaq Siddiqi
A Humble, Knowledgeable, and Devoted Servant of Society

Ustad Abdulhaq Siddiqi, the son of the late Mufti Abdulwahab, was born in 1969 (1348 Hijri Shamsi) into a religious, scholarly, and cultured family in Anar Dara district, Farah province. He spent his childhood in a spiritually rich environment, deeply rooted in Islamic values. He began his primary education at Sheikh Abdul Samad Nazari High School but was forced to abandon his studies following the bloody Saur Coup and the subsequent closure of schools. In 1982, his family was compelled to flee Afghanistan and took refuge in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In exile, living in cities like Zahedan and Birjand, he pursued Islamic studies with unwavering dedication. Under the guidance of prominent scholars such as Mawlana Abdul Rauf Khorasani, his respected uncle Hajji Mawlawi Ghulam Rasool, and Mawlana Abdul Hayy al-Khair, he gained profound knowledge and spiritual insight. After the mujahideen came to power in 1993, Ustad Siddiqi—like many patriotic Afghans—returned to his homeland, aspiring to contribute to its reconstruction. He furthered his religious education in Herat under the mentorship of the esteemed scholar Mawlana Abul Khayr Abdul Hayy. Later, he traveled to Pakistan, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in Hadith and Islamic Sciences at a reputable seminary.

Upon his return to Afghanistan in 1997, he became actively involved in academic, administrative, and cultural fields. He initially served as the principal of Sultan Ghiyasuddin Ghor High School in Herat and was subsequently appointed Director of Historical Monuments Preservation. In this role, he made significant efforts to safeguard Herat’s ancient heritage until 2002. Concurrently, in 1999, he joined the Herat Literary Association and became a regular presence at cultural gatherings.

In 2003, Ustad Siddiqi was appointed as a lecturer in the Faculty of Sharia at Herat University. His teaching responsibilities extended to multiple faculties, including Medicine, Law and Political Science, Agriculture, Economics, Fine Arts, and Sharia. From 2007 onward, he also began teaching at the Darul Uloom Fakhru-l-Madaris in Herat. Between 2013 and 2022, he served for ten years at Kawkab-e-Sharq Higher Education Institute, specializing in Islamic Jurisprudence, Criminal Law, and Inheritance.

In 2014, he enrolled in a master’s program in Criminal Law and Criminology at Islamic Azad University in Mashhad, Iran, and graduated in 2017 with high honors. From 2019 to 2022, he taught at Ghalib University’s Faculty of Law and Political Science.

An Inspirational Figure in Education and Humanity

Ustad Abdulhaq Siddiqi continues to dedicate himself with the same sincerity and passion. He presently teaches at Fakhru-l-Madaris and at one of Herat’s private universities. Simultaneously, he remains at the helm of the Habibyar Charity Foundation, working tirelessly to serve the people, particularly the most vulnerable.
